Dear Daughter of Day,
Women often grapple with the effects of growing a year older in age. This is why there are so many advertisements about skin care products to slow down the process.
There are many phases and stages of aging. I am sure you have heard about the good and the bad. From the big moment of starting your menstrual cycle to the beginning of menopause and everything in between, aging is something that all women must come to terms with and accept. There will be physical changes and emotional transitions that come along with growing older.
We have even heard people put cliches on age to make us feel better about it. You are only as old as you feel. Age needs no apology but instead acceptance. Aging is a beautiful process that we as God’s daughters should all celebrate and embrace. The more we love who we are and where we are in the moment, the kinder the aging process will be to us.
I am learning to look at this process in a different way. Age is more than the physical changes that are often viewed by society in a negative way. As we age, we gain Awareness, Growth and Experience. The older you are the more you get to possess!
Can you imagine having a life account full of these three things? The more time you put into expanding your awareness of who you are, the experiences you have had along with your spiritually and emotional growth the more secure you will become within yourself.
Write down how your awareness about life and being a woman has increased over time. What areas have you grown the most in over the past year? What experiences do you value the most and how have they shaped who you are today?
Embrace your age! Value what you have gained along your journey!
