Hello Daughter of Day! We have covered the B, E and the L in believe. Now it is time for the I! The I has a lot to do you with you. “I must Initiate and have Intimacy with God”.
Initiation is imperative when it comes to believing. As we have discussed, believing is an action word. It is not something you just “say” you are doing. You don’t sit back and believe but you roll up your sleeves and do something in faith that shows you are expecting something to happen.
Initiate is the I in believe. You must initiate action to assist in bringing what you are believing for to come to pass. What activity can you initiate in your belief process? If you are believing at a spiritual level and asking God for something, initiate meditating on scripture and becoming more intimate with God. Spend time with God and ask Him for the steps you need to take in order to bring the vision to pass.
Maybe you are believing to lose weight. Well, there is obvious action that needs to be initiated in this feat. You must initiate activity/exercise, you must initiate a better diet that promotes health and wellness. It is surprising how many people sit back and say they are believing for something to happen without initiating any activity.
Take initiative! Read a book about how to start a business, read about how to be a better spouse or parent. Believing takes action! No one else is going to do it for you.
When we were believing for our son’s healing we had to initiate time and intimacy with God to determine our next steps. We had to initiate picking up the Bible and reading about what God said belonged to our son in regards to healing. How could we claim what we were unaware of? We had to find out what he had a right to possess in his life. This intimacy with God and then initiating what we heard God say created a faith funnel!
Real belief causes you to get into a tunnel of focused activity while keeping an intimate connection with God. Are you ready to take initiative?
Write out three things that you can do to ignite your belief by taking initiative. Make one item something you will complete this week and give the other two an initiation and completion date. Ready, set, go!
God, thank you for giving your daughters the direction they need to take initiative as they believe for their visions and dreams to come to pass. Let them believe you at a greater level as they become more intimate with you in their daily lives. We thank you for the power there is in an active belief system. Amen.
James 2: 14-26 NKJV “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
